Scheduling 1:1s

Mora has two kinds of 1:1: a cadence, which is a recurring meeting with one person, and a one-off, which is a single meeting. Most of your 1:1s will be cadences.

Open the person’s page from Team, select ⋯, then Set up cadence. You choose:

FieldOptions
FrequencyWeekly, or every 2 weeks
Length30, 45, or 60 minutes
Next 1:1The date and time

If Google Calendar is connected, the cadence becomes one recurring calendar event, with your report invited and a video link attached.

To change it, use ⋯ then Edit cadence. Changing the frequency, length, or next date updates the calendar series and your next 1:1 together.

To stop it, open Edit cadence and select Delete. This ends the recurring meeting. It doesn’t remove the person or their history.

Use a one-off for anything outside the regular rhythm, such as a follow-up conversation that can’t wait.

From the person’s page, select Schedule 1:1 or use ⋯ then Schedule a one-off. Pick a length and a date and time.

A one-off behaves like any other 1:1: it gets a check-in link, a Prep page, meeting mode, and a wrap-up. It just doesn’t repeat.

If someone has nothing scheduled, their page shows a prompt that takes you here.

You can cancel one meeting without affecting the recurring schedule. Open the 1:1 from the person’s page or from Today and select Cancel 1:1. Mora asks you to confirm.

What happens:

  • The recurring schedule continues. The meeting after this one is unaffected.
  • If the 1:1 is on your calendar, only that occurrence is removed. The series stays.
  • No check-in is sent for a canceled 1:1, even if one was already queued.
  • Canceled 1:1s don’t appear in the person’s history.

Because a canceled meeting doesn’t count as coverage, the person will show as having no upcoming 1:1 until the next one comes around.

If the calendar update fails, Mora tells you at the time. The 1:1 is canceled in Mora either way, but the invite may still be on your report’s calendar, so remove it in Google Calendar yourself.

If you already run 1:1s on your calendar, import them rather than re-creating them.

  1. Connect Google Calendar in Settings → Connections.
  2. Go to Settings → Import & export and select Import.
  3. Mora finds recurring 1:1s on your calendar and shows you what it found, with a note explaining what importing each one would do.
  4. Select the ones you want and import them.

Importing attaches Mora to calendar events you already have. It doesn’t send new invites and it doesn’t create duplicates. You can run it again later to pick up 1:1s you’ve added since.

Whether someone has a 1:1 scheduled shows on their card on the Team page.

Pinned reports also show a dot in the navigation when they need something, and an unwrapped 1:1 puts a banner across the top of the app. What needs you

  • Keeps recurring 1:1s scheduled. Each day, Mora checks that every active cadence has its next meeting scheduled and creates it if not, working about four weeks ahead.
  • Reminds you about unwrapped 1:1s, by email and with the banner. After a grace period it moves the schedule on anyway, so one forgotten wrap-up doesn’t stall your rhythm.
  • Sends the check-in 24 hours before each scheduled 1:1. It checks again at sending time, so no email goes out for a meeting that has been canceled or has already happened.
