Pre-meeting check-ins
Before each 1:1, the person you’re meeting gets an email with a private link and four short questions. Their answers appear on your Prep page and in meeting mode.
This is the only part of Mora your reports use. They don’t need an account, a password, or an invitation to sign up.
The four questions
Section titled “The four questions”Every check-in asks the same four questions:
- What’s gone well since we last talked?
- What’s been frustrating or getting in your way?
- Anything you’d like my help, input, or a decision on?
- Anything else on your mind for our next 1:1?
All four are optional. Your report can answer one and leave the rest blank.
You can’t change the questions.
When it’s sent
Section titled “When it’s sent”Automatically, 24 hours before each scheduled 1:1, to the work email address on the person’s profile.
The email comes from you rather than from Mora. It’s written in your voice, signed with your name, and replies go to you. Every other email Mora sends is signed by the Mora team.
If a meeting is less than 24 hours away, or you want the link sent sooner, open the meeting’s Prep page, go to Pre-meeting check-in, and select Send check-in. The button reads Resend check-in once one has been sent.
You can also copy the link and send it yourself, in a chat message or wherever your report will see it.
Mora doesn’t send a check-in for a 1:1 that has been canceled or has already happened.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”The Prep page shows the status:

Once they respond, their answers appear on the Prep page and in meeting mode under What’s on their mind. Mora also reads them when suggesting agenda items.
What your report sees
Section titled “What your report sees”One page, with their name, your name, and the four questions. That’s all of it.
They can change their answers at any time before the meeting. The page reopens in an editable state when they return.
The page also has a section called What Mora knows about you, which they can expand. It explains what Mora stores about them, that Mora is an AI tool reading what their manager writes, and how to ask for their data to be removed. About privacy
The check-in page shows no notes, no goals, no agenda, and nothing Mora has written. Information only travels one way, from them to you.
If they don’t reply
Section titled “If they don’t reply”Run the 1:1 as usual. The agenda, Mora’s suggestions, and your notes all work without a check-in.
Past meetings
Section titled “Past meetings”Check-ins aren’t sent for 1:1s that have already happened, and the check-in section on a past meeting is read-only.
