Sentiment tracking
Mora tracks relationship sentiment across your meetings with each direct report — giving you a way to see how the relationship is trending over time, not just how it felt in the last conversation.
What sentiment measures
Sentiment in Mora is not a simple happiness score. It’s a qualitative assessment of the relationship health based on your meeting notes, feedback signals, and action item patterns. Mora’s AI looks at:
- The tone and content of your meeting notes
- Whether action items are being completed or consistently slipping
- Themes appearing in feedback questionnaire responses
- How often key development topics (career goals, growth, blockers) are surfacing
From this, Mora assigns a sentiment trend for the relationship: positive, neutral, improving, declining, or negative.
Where to see sentiment
Sentiment appears in several places in Mora:
- My Team — each team member card shows their current sentiment label at a glance
- Direct report profile — the relationship profile section shows the sentiment trend and a brief AI-generated summary of the current state
- Dashboard — the Today view surfaces any relationships with declining or negative sentiment as something to pay attention to
How it updates
Sentiment is recalculated automatically after each completed meeting. The AI synthesizes your notes from the last 90 days to determine the current trend. It’s not based on any single meeting — a difficult conversation won’t suddenly flip the sentiment to negative if the overall pattern is healthy.
Using sentiment as a signal
Sentiment tracking is meant to surface things you might not notice in the day-to-day. If you’ve had five meetings with someone and the trend is gradually declining, that’s worth examining — even if each individual meeting felt fine.
Common things to look at when sentiment is declining:
- Are action items getting completed on both sides?
- Has the conversation been consistently surface-level?
- Are there recurring themes in feedback that haven’t been addressed?
